About

Small tools. High standards.

We believe useful software should solve a real problem without creating new ones.

What guides the work

Every Nichessities utility begins with one question:

Can this save someone time, reduce confusion, or help them make a better decision?

If the answer is yes, we build it.

Simple

Good tools should be easy to understand.

Honest

Assumptions, limitations, and uncertainty should always be visible.

Accessible

Everyone should be able to use our software regardless of device or ability.

Practical

Every feature should help someone complete the task at hand.

From idea to public utility

We define the problem and intended audience first, document the inputs and assumptions, and build the smallest workflow that can produce a useful result. Automated tests cover calculations, saved data, generated pages, and release rules. A human review then checks the complete task on desktop and mobile before a utility is made public.

After release, feedback and defects are evaluated against the same standard: a change should make the utility clearer, safer, or more useful without hiding a new assumption. Significant behavior changes receive focused tests and another review.

What “Nichessities Editorial” means

Nichessities is created and operated by Joseph Simon Simbulan under the Nichessities brand. As the site operator, he is responsible for its product direction, publication decisions, and the maintenance of its public utilities and guides.

A publishing identity, not an invented staff

“Nichessities Editorial” is the publishing label used for Nichessities guides. It does not represent a separate editorial staff, outside review panel, or group of subject-matter experts. The byline identifies the site responsible for preparing and maintaining the guide.

How guides are developed

Each guide begins with a practical question connected to a released Nichessities utility. Its explanation is checked against the utility’s actual inputs, calculations, outputs, limitations, storage behavior, and intended use. A guide should answer its question independently while providing a natural path to the utility when the reader is ready to complete the task.

Examples and sources

Examples are fictional and are labeled as synthetic. They are created to explain a workflow, calculation, or limitation and do not use visitor records. When a guide depends on external technical, regulated, or time-sensitive facts, Nichessities looks for primary or authoritative sources and identifies where readers should confirm current information for themselves.

Review, limitations, and updates

Before publication, Joseph reviews each guide for consistency with the released utility, visible assumptions, privacy accuracy, appropriate sourcing, and claims that exceed the utility’s scope. Nichessities does not claim professional credentials or specialist review where none exists. A visible updated date is added only after a meaningful revision; minor formatting or typographical corrections do not create artificial freshness.

The broader principles used for public releases are described in Our Standards.
