The result is a planning range built from the amounts and confidence choices you enter. Confirmed entries stay fixed; estimated entries use the visible low and high assumptions. Contributions are shown separately from the cost of the wedding so funding does not make the event appear cheaper.
Synthetic example: a catering quote lists a meal charge, a percentage service charge, delivery, and estimated tax. Enter each applicable cost once instead of folding the same service charge into both the quote and a separate fee. Mark settled figures as confirmed and uncertain figures as estimates with visible low and high assumptions. Add contingency as its own planning allowance rather than quietly increasing every line. If family members plan to contribute, record those contributions separately: they affect the amount the couple may need to fund, but not the all-in event cost. The result is a traceable planning range whose parts can be checked against the actual quote.
