Utility category
Turn difficult document tasks into useful, portable results.
Local extraction can turn positioned PDF text into spreadsheet-ready rows without uploading the file, but visual tables do not always contain reliable table structure. Check whether the source is text-based, understand what cleanup changes, and validate rows, headers, signs, dates, totals, and page boundaries before relying on an export.

Before you begin
A PDF can display a table without storing one. First check whether the document contains selectable text. A scan usually contains page images and requires OCR before its contents can be interpreted as text. Even in a text-based PDF, rows and columns may be inferred from where words appear rather than from reliable table structure.
Compare the selected page range, row count, headers, column alignment, signs, dates, currency, totals, wrapped descriptions, and continuation pages with the source. A plausible preview can still contain shifted or split values. If the source is scanned, the structure remains ambiguous, or the consequences of an error are significant, stop and use appropriate OCR or manual review.
Use the PDF Table Extractor when a text-based document contains positioned rows and columns that you want to review and export locally. The utility creates a candidate table and cleanup workflow; it does not certify the result’s accuracy.
